Observations have been made with the University of Durham Mark 6
telescope of SN 1006 and SN 1998bw. Limits to VHE gamma ray emission
from these objects have been derived. The upper limit from SN 1006 may
be in conflict with the measurement made with the CANGAROO telescope. .
