The equatorial jet parameters are calculated for models of Uranus and Neptune assuming that the angular momentum is transported outward due to the difference in buoyancies of oppositely rotating eddies in the planetary atmospheres. The rate of the equatorial zone rotation depends on the planet model and may be 25 to 50% greater than the rotational rate of the near-polar regions. An interrelation between the width and velocity of the equatorial current suggested by the theory proposed here can be used to determine the Uranus current parameters provided sufficiently long homogeneous series of Doppler measurements of the Uranus rotation are made. The velocity and the width of these planets' equatorial currents determine the dimensions of their convective gas envelopes and rocky cores, so that these parameters will provide additional conditions for planet modeling.
