Implications of the flux-rope-fiber theory of solar magnetic flares for flare prediction and models of flare structures are examined. Attention is given to helical twists of various scales in the submerged and atmospheric sections of solar fields, and observations and predictions of the magnetic structure of flares with an impulsive phase are considered. Other gross flare structures, including S-shaped features, current sheets, sunspot pairs with reverse polarity, young-active-region flares and old-active-region flares, are also explained by the flux-rope theory. Expanding magnetic arches, or eruptive prominences, their interplanetary consequences, and plasma mass ejections are discussed in terms of flux-rope theory, and Alfven wave heating is considered as an energy source for the magnetic flux ropes in slow flares.
