Most of the baryons in the low-redshift Universe appear to be missing. Hydrodynamic cosmological simulations predict that they reside in the intergalactic medium which has been shock-heated to millions of degrees. Such warm-hot intergalactic medium is observable through X-ray absorption lines in the spectra of background quasars. I will describe our work on finding the missing baryons with the Chandra X-ray Observatory.
