Twenty-five galaxies in the region of the Zwicky cluster 1400 plus 0949, also known as the NGC 5416 group, have been observed in the 21-cm neutral hydrogen line. For 16 detected galaxies, various properties derived from the H I data are presented. Observed radial velocities for the 16 detected galaxies have been combined with those of six others known from optical studies to compute the relevant dynamical quantities of the group. The virial total mass-to-luminosity ratio for the group is shown to be about an order of magnitude larger than those of the individual galaxies. Various clues suggest that the group may be an extension of the Coma supercluster. The hydrogen mass-to-luminosity ratios of these galaxies are found to be comparable with the 'standard' samples of Roberts (1975) and of Balkowski (1973). A weak tendency for later morphological types to show hydrogen deficiency is hinted at by the data.
