We have studied the correlation between the hard X-ray (10 keV) luminosity, the radio (5GHz) luminosity and the [OIII]5007 Å luminosity in an heterogeneous sample of emission line AGN observed by BeppoSAX. We find strong correlations between all these luminosities. We also find that the [OIII]5007 luminosity is correlated with the ratio between the 10 keV and the 5 GHz luminosity at the 98% confidence level. This suggests that the [OIII] emission is probably not related only to the UV ionizing radiation from the AGN, and therefore that the [OIII] emission is not a perfect indicator of the isotropic UV radiation field. .
