We describe the selection technique adopted to extract from the REX sample (Radio Emitting X-ray sources) a well-defined subsample of 109 Optically Bright REX (OB-REX). Here we present the optical, X-ray and radio properties of the OB-REX sources and the results of the selection effects analysis, obtained by use of properly selected comparison samples. .
