We propose to observe with ACIS three compact radio galaxies with double-lobe morphorogy, 3C452, 3C427.1 and 3C438. We can detect diffuse non-thermal X-rays from their synchrotron radio lobes, arising via inverse-Compton scattering on the cosmic microwave background photons. Our main objetvive is to determine the energy densities of magnetic field and electrons in the lobes, by comparing the inverse-Compton X-ray flux with the radio synchrotron radio flux.
