The new heuristic approach to the calculation of characteristic scales of motion in the solar convection zone is suggested. It is shown that cell convection is inevitable and more beneficial energetically. As a consequence, the meridional circulation and differential rotation must be functions of longitude, latitude and time. The largest and the smallest scales of motion are discussed briefly.
