A model is worked out for the inner zone of an accretion disk, allowing
for the existence of a vertical velocity component for the gas. The
temperature in the central plane of the disk is found to be higher than
in the standard theory, and it depends on the accretion rate. Some of
the gas in the inner zone is shed, producing a corona around the disk.
