The equations for the flow of a relativistic fluid down a channel of constantly changing cross section are derived for the twin-exhaust model of double radio sources, in which a large quantity of relativistic plasma is quasi-continuously ejected from the active region of a galactic nucleus. The major assumptions are that the flow is predominantly one-dimensional and that the fluid is perfect. The expressions for the time change of the components of the stress-energy tensor are compact and amenable to numerical integration.
