Second-order extinction is routinely assumed to be small, nearly constant, and only significant for B band or (B-V) color index measurements. This study addressed the question, "are these assumptions valid at a typical low- altitude amateur observatory site?" Happily, they are. This result should give comfort to other photometrists who use sites that are not located on high mountain tops.
