The space structure of the globular cluster M 12 is investigated. Coordinates of the cluster stars were stored in a computer, the center of symmetry of the cluster was computed, and histograms were made of the luminosity functions. The distribution of the most luminous stars is strikingly anomalous, as is the space distribution of the several classes on the HR diagram. Low-luminosity subgiants appear to be more concentrated toward the center, a discontinuity is evident in the distribution of the brightest stars near r equals 10 and this discontinuity is readily correlated with the spatial anomalies. Comparison with other globular clusters is suggested.
