The Shalon-Alatu Cerenkov telescope complex built in Tien Shan for gamma astronomy studies in the quanta energy range 1-30 TeV is briefly described. Particular attention is given to the calibration of the telescope sensitivity. For the Shalon experiment, a Monte Carlo simulation of electron-photon cascades in the atmosphere has been carried out for proton and gamma showers with energies of 1 TeV.
