The superoutburst and superhump phenomena in SU Ursae Majoris stars are investigated by examining two competing models: the enhanced mass-transfer model and the disk-instability model. Results of numerical simulations indicate that the superoutburst and superhump phenomena in SU UMa are best explained by the thermal and tidal instability of an accretion disk in a binary system, with a low-mass secondary.
