It is shown that a compact formula for the bounce-averaged magnetic drift velocity of trapped particles derived for the curl-free magnetic field is also valid for the case of non-zero electric current density. This formula may be used for particle drift motion in realistic model magnetospheres which include distributed currents with planar current sheets.
