The infrared detection of the nova Cas 1993 shell 2513 days after outburst is presented. Broadband (J, H, and K) absolute fluxes for the ejecta are derived after isolating its emission from the central star contribution. A revised expansion distance for this system of d=2.9+/-0.4 kpc is obtained on the basis of the angular size of the envelope. The possible sources for the nebular IR emission are discussed, and a comparison with the previous evolution of the shell is made.
