We report optical observations of the field of the transient IGR J18539+0727 (Lutovinov et al., ATel #151) acquired with the BFOSC instrument mounted on the Bologna Astronomical Observatory 1.5-m "G.D. Cassini" telescope located in Loiano (Italy). A single 20-minute R-band image was acquired starting at 01:43 UT of 2003 April 28 under a seeing of about 1.8 arcsec.
