Photometry, Galaxy: Open Clusters And Associations: Individual (Orion), Stars: Flare

Scientific paper

Being aware that our magnitudes and photographic colors of the flare stars are very uncertain - given that our original interest did not require delicate photometry - we herewith examine the photoelectric photometry performed by Mendoza & Walker for eleven of our flare stars in the vicinity of Orion. Upon preliminary examination we find certain anomalies, especially in Mendoza's photometry, that can be interpreted as resulting from internal inconsistencies in his system, including possible significant errors, or that the flare stars observed by him behave as very peculiar and interesting objects.
