Scientific paper

Research currently in progress in the Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (CSIRO) on satellite antennas, multibeam earth stations, and reflector feeds is reviewed. Particular attention is given to two major CSIRO projects on portable communication systems. CSIRO is developing vehicle-mounted electronically-tracking antennas for the future land-mobile satellite service provided by Optus, Inmarsat-M, and AMSC/TMI. Another current project is aimed at developing antennas for indoor wireless networks and is part of a larger initiative on portable local-area networks.
