A numerical method is used to study the influence of Galatea on epitons, the stable local clusters of particles in Neptunian arcs. The model takes into account the mutual accretion of inelastic particles and the tidal destruction of the largest of them. It is shown that Galatea causes periodic changes in epiton eccentricity, the number of particles, and the frequency of their mutual collisions. The relative dispersion in the orbital semimajor axes of epiton particles is as high as 2 x 10 exp -6, which corresponds to a mutual collison velocity of 2 cm/s. If the probability of cohesion for a mutual collision of particles is close to unity, the epiton remains stable.
