I will review our current understanding of the gas and dust in inner disks surrounding young low-mass stars. An exciting recent development is the apparent utility of CO fundamental emission as a probe of the nominal terrestrial planet formation region. I will discuss the implications of the spectral line results for our understanding of disk atmospheres and the potential use of these probes to measure the gas dissipation timescale in inner disks.
