Multimode RR Lyrae variables -- Blazhko effect stars and double mode stars -- pose a challenge to theorists of stellar pulsation. A photometric program to study the peculiarities of these stars, inside and outside of globular clusters, has been in progress at Michigan State University. Results are presented for several field and cluster stars, with particular emphasis on the Blazhko variable AR Her. The occurrence of different secondary cycle patterns in different stars is noted
