The gravitational microlensing planet search technique is reviewed with an emphasis on its advantages over other ground based planet search techniques. The current observational status of microlensing follow-up planet search programs and the advantage of a microlensing follow-up program in Antarctica are discussed. Finally, an ambitious microlensing planet search program which relies upon only a single Antarctic telescope is also presented.
