Using deep red and infrared photographs taken with the CTIO 4-m telescope, a catalog of 111 infrared-bright stars located in a region 12 arcmin in radius and centered on the galactic nucleus has been prepared. Most of the stars are probably heavily reddened giants and main-sequence stars imbedded in the Sagittarius spiral arm at a distance of about 6 kpc from the sun.
