Photographic photometry of star clusters in the Small Magellanic Cloud (SMC) has been carried out on plates taken by the U. K. 1.2 m Schmidt telescope in Coonabarabran, Australia.
Colour-magnitude (c-m) diagrams for the stars of the innermost areas and the adjoining field of each cluster have been produced. From these preliminary c-m diagrams it is found that ten of the clusters are old and ten young. The old clusters seem to be similar to the intermediate age clusters of our Galaxy.
The young clusters have ages that vary between 106 to 7 × 107 years. It is also found that two of the young clusters are blue globulars.
