Recent photometric and spectroscopic observations of OY Car obtained by Vogt (1979) are used to determine the main physical parameters of this binary. Under the assumption that the secondary is a main sequence star which fills its critical Roche-volume, the resulting parameters are found to be: mass of the white dwarf primary equals (0.30 + or - 0.05) solar masses, mass of the secondary equals (0.12 + or 0.02) solar masses, radius of the secondary equals (0.15 + or - 0.01) solar radii, orbital inclination equals 75.8 deg + or - 0.8 deg, radial velocity of the primary equals (110 + or - 10) km per s. It is noted that these parameters make OY Car very similar in structure to Z Cha, and the possibility that the mass exchange occurring in OY Car is induced by radiation of gravitational waves is discussed.
