The effect of helium depletion on the structure and emergent flux in a model atmosphere typical of a blue horizontal-branch star (T(eff) = 20,000 K, log g = 4.85, Z = 10 to the -3rd) was studied. No significant changes were shown to occur in the physical structure, nor in the Johnson UBV color indices when the case of helium depletion was compared with that of low helium content. On the contrary, the shape of He-lines appeared to be a good indicator of helium depletion or original low helium abundance.
