In this study flowfield topology changes on the lee-side of generic body-flaps are investigated under arc-heated facility flow conditions. The leeside flow is investigated including heat conductivity and radiation exchange of the structural model. Following the binary scaling approach, the configuration is extrapolated to flight condition, which changes the flow physics as well as the structural effects clearly. While the surface temperature distribution are comparable there are changes in the flowfield topology. Key words: hypersonic; body-flap; extrapolation.
