As part of its hard X-ray transient monitor program, the Burst Alert Telescope on Swift has detected a brightening of the high-mass X-ray binary and binary pulsar 2S 1417-624 which confirms the results recently reported from the Fermi/GBM (Beklen & Finger, ATel #2275). The source first became detectable on 14-Oct-2009, rising to a peak daily average brightness of 0.019 ± 0.002 counts/s/cm2, corresponding to ~85 mCrab in the 15-50 keV band, on 30-Oct-2009 (MJD 55134).
