Long-term JHKL (1.25-, 1.65-, 2.2- and 3.5-μm) monitoring of the Seyfert 2 galaxy NGC 1068 shows that its infrared flux has increased slowly over 18 years. The increase is most pronounced at the longer wavelengths, amounting to almost 0.9 mag at L. The spectral energy distribution of the variable part is constant, and can be interpreted as the result of emission from a hot circumnuclear dust torus.
