We obtained low resolution spectra of the optical nova candidate M31N 2009-10a in M 31 (RA=00 45 14.04, Dec=+42 04 38.8, J2000) discovered by Koichi Itagaki on images taken on 2009 Oct. 6.51 UT and confirmed by T. Yusa on images taken on Oct. 4.21 and by Koichi Nishiyama and Fujio Kabashima on images taken on Oct. 3 (for details see http://www.cfa.harvard.edu/iau/CBAT_M31.html#2009-10a) .
