The Wisconsin Ultraviolet Photopolarimeter Experiment (WUPPE) observed Io on March 4, 9 and 16 1995 in the wavelength range 2100 - 3200 Angstroms. The albedo measurements are consistent with the surface being about 40% covered in an SO_2 frost. The polarization of the latter two observations (orbital phase phi =286(deg) and 268(deg) , respectively) are consistent with the presence of two polarized regions which are either associated with the volcanic site Pele or Hephaestus Patera and Viracocha Patera.
