The electric field and plasma structure in the vicinity of a charged spherical body are analyzed assuming electron photoemission from that part of the body which is illuminated by the sun. The sphere radius is assumed to be small, compared with the mean free path of the particles, and large, compared with the Debye radius of the plasma. Photocurrent is treated as a perturbation. Analytical expressions are derived for the distributions of the electric current and ion, electron, and photoelectron concentrations. The case when the electric field has little effect on the photoelectron concentration distribution is examined in detail.
