The IUE observations of the BL Lac Objects PKS 2155-304, PKS 0521-37, PKS 0537-44 and of the QSOs PG1351+64 and PKS 0637-75 are discussed. For PKS 2155-304 and PG 1351+64, comparison of UV and optical continua indicates a steepening of the spectrum around 3000 A. For 3C66A, a steepening is found with respect to the infrared data while the optical slope varies between that of the infrared and that of the ultraviolet data. For PKS 0521-37 the data corrected for the contribution of the underlying galaxy are compatible with a single power law from 10 to the 14th power to 3 times 10 to the 15 th power Hz. In all cases the extrapolation of the UV spectrum is compatible with the observed soft X-ray fluxes. Since PKS 0537-44 and PKS 0637-75 were observed in only one of the IUE bands, it is not possible to estimate reliably a UV spectral index.
