Observations of main sequence stars between 500 and 1400A at very high spectral resolution are proposed. In the photosphere, Magellan satellite could examine autoionization lines, abundance of rare elements, satellite lines, and Schuster mechanism effects. It could investigate where the Lyman continuum is formed in the chromosphere, and how radiative losses envolve from cool to hot stars. Magellan could also help to establish links between the different types of stellar wind acceleration mechanism over the Hertzsprung-Russell diagram.
