The UV energy distribution of the X-ray burst source MXB 1735-44 is discussed. The ratio of X-ray to bolometric flux was used to estimate the thickness of the accretion disk which links the neutron to the low mass star in the MXB system. Optical and UV emission of MXB was assumed to be due to reprocessing of X-rays in the disk. It is suggested that a highly ionized disk corona shields the disk by scattering up to half of the X-ray flux away from the disk, allowing a relatively small disk to shield the optical companion.
