Assuming an axisymmetric spiral galaxy to consist of 3 components, a plane-parallel distribution with an exponentially decreasing density in the z-direction, a polytropic distribution about the centre and a highly concentrated nuclear ball, we give analytic expressions for the mass density in such a system. Specific results for Milky Way are given. Our results agree with the latest observations.
