The inverse Compton contribution to medium-latitude Galactic diffuse gamma rays is studied by using recent EGRET date in the GRO Archive. In our analysis, two methods are adopted. One is the new method given here, where gamma-ray emissivity produced in the interaction of Galactic cosmic rays with interstellar gas is determined by gamma-ray data themselves; the alternative is the method often used, where the emissivity is given by theoretical estimation. The energy dependences of inverse Compton contribution in the methods are obtained. Our results indicate that the inverse Compton contribution is important.
