By considering the modification in conservation laws when the gravitational constant G is allowed change via a scale-invariant formalism, we place consistent limits on Gdot/G. If Gdot ∝ tɛ, then our "best" model has ∣ɛ∣ ≲ 3 × 10-3 and ∣Gdot/G∣now ˜ ∣ɛt-1now∣ ≲ 1.7 × 10-13 yr-1. These values are comparable to, but approximately a factor of 2 stronger than, limits found in naive models where the conservation laws are not taken into account.
