Results of VLBI observations of the milliarcsecond scale structure of the radio galaxy 3C 120 at wavelengths of 2.8 and 6.0 cm are reported for seven epochs between 1978.24 and 1980.27. The structure is highly variable, typically consisting of several features distributed along position angle -108 deg + or - 10 deg. The easternmost feature is relatively bright at all epochs and is probably the core of a core-jet morphology. The rest of the source varies so rapidly that individual features can seldom be followed from one epoch to the next. The one probable exception is a pair of features which were seen to separate at an apparent rate of about four times the speed of light during 1979.
