Observations are presented at 49.21 and 6 cm of the total and polarized intensity of the jets and extended lobes of the large radio galaxy B2 1321 plus 31. The dominant component of the magnetic field in both jets is extremely regular and is oriented perpendicular to the jet axis. The degree of polarization is found to increase with distance from the radio core, reaching values up to 40 percent and then decreasing to approximately 20 percent. The depolarization ratio between 49 and 21 cm is approximately 0.8 in the inner parts of the jet; it then increases outwards. The spectral index of the jets between 21 and 6 cm is unusually flat and constant, alpha being approximately 0.25. The two jets expand initially at a constant angle of about 20 deg up to a distance from the core of approximately 2 arcmin; they then progressively stabilize to a transverse size of about 45 arcsec. It is found that the brightness in the jets does not everywhere follow the expectations based on a simple adiabatic expansion. Consideration is given to a number of alternative explanations for this.
