Results are presented describing various statistical properties of the peaks in three-dimensional Gaussian noise. The results are expressed in terms of simple, easily calculable integrals. Expressions are given for the mean number density of peaks and its integral and for the local profiles around peaks. The formulae are illustrated for the currently popular n = 1 adiabatic Cold Dark Matter spectrum.
