The Decadal Survey of Astronomy and Astrophysics is a review that recommends priorities for all projects in astrophysics in the coming decade. The priorities are established by a secret vote of the members of the Astronomy and Astrophysics Survey Committee (AASC). Voting is on projects recommended by a set of discipline panels. One of us (Knoelker) chaired the Solar Panel and the other (Title) was a member of the AASC and vice chair of the Solar Panel. Christopher McKee of the University of California and Joseph Taylor of Princeton University jointly chaired the current review. Projects were prioritized in categories of large, moderate, and small for both ground and space. The output of the study is a report - Astronomy and Astrophysics in the New Millennium. The report is in two volumes the main report and an appendix that contains reports of the AASC panels. We will discuss the process and the priorities of the survey with special emphasis of the impacts on and implications for Solar Physics.
