The propagation of MHD waves through a transition layer with a power-law profile of density and temperature is considered. The dependence of the layer transmission coefficient on the density profile and the wave frequency has been derived. It is shown that, with account for the profile, the transmission coefficient increases considerably as compared to the case of an abrupt temperature jump. Estimates of the maximum possible energy flux emerging into the corona are given which, in all practically important situations, is controlled by the value of the coronal magnetic field. The magnetic configurations are assumed to be opened ones.
