We have estimated the distance to the center of the galaxy from the
measurements of the proper motions of 24 H2O maser spots in the source
Sgr B2-North. A comparison of the transverse angular velocities measured
from VLBI observations and the line of sight Doppler velocities gives a
distance estimate of 7.1+/-1.5 kpc.
