A Fabry-Pérot étalon has been used in the classic focal reducer arrangement to take photographic interferograms of the H II region M8. Displacing the telescope allowed overlapping interferograms to be taken which could be used to derive complete velocity fields of different ions (Hα, [N II], [S II], [O III]) over the whole nebula. These velocity fields show complex structures which cannot be explained with a simple nebular expansion model. Regions of lower radial velocities seem to be associated to bright CO spots while regions of low CO brightness show higher radial velocities. This could be interpreted as flows of ionized matter from molecular cloud fragments.
