The authors present optical linear polarization data for the Herbig Haro
object HH 24 and nearby nebulous star SSCV 140 which show that these
systems are independent reflection nebulae illuminated by individual
central sources. The authors tentatively identify the source of a
bipolar molecular outflow in the region.
