Collision strengths calculated using the R-matrix method for transitions between the five lowest LS states for the sodium isoelectronic sequence ions, Al III, Si IV, and S VI are presented. The importance of resonances, particularly for forbidden transitions, is investigated. Collision rates have been calculated assuming a Maxwellian electron energy distribution, and their use in the interpretation of astrophysical plasmas is briefly discussed.
