The paper presents Prognoz-8 data on proton fluxes with energies greater than 100 MeV and greater than 500 MeV obtained during January-September 1981. These data are compared with readings of high-latitude neutron monitors, and the good correlation obtained in this comparison can be explained in two ways: (1) either the contribution of electrons with energies greater than 20 MeV to the count rate of the satellite scintillation-Cerenkov spectrometer is negligible or (2) the modulations of protons and electrons are similar here.
